STAND UP AND SEE THE VICTORY

I believe it is interesting that Paul tells us that having done all to stand, to stand therefore (Ephesian 6:13-14). It makes me think about watching our favorite athletes on the field. When one of them gets hurt, the team, fans, and coaches get nervous until that player stands up. When they stand up, people know that it is going to be ok.

When a child is learning to walk, they will fall down. They may even cry a little because it hurts. It may hurt their bodies, their pride, or even their trust in themselves and the world they live in. However, that child will shake off all the hurt and take off again. They will learn to walk and run, but it doesn’t guarantee that they will not fall again. When they fall again, they will get up knock the dust off and continue on their way.

As followers of Christ, we are going to fall down. It may hurt, because sin has a price. It may hurt our bodies, our pride, our trust in life, our trust in ourselves, the way people look at us, or in many others ways. However, we have a choice to make. Are we going to lay there defeated or are we going to get up and STAND? Paul encourages us to take up our armor and get back up.

God is asking us to stand today. He is not asking us to run, but to stand. Just as Moses told the people in Exodus 14:13 and 14: “13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. 14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” God is asking us to stand and see the victory because He is fighting for us. You may ask, why would God fight for me? The answer is because God loves you and cares for you. Will you get up and stand this day?

Make a commitment today to stand on His word, and His promises and I guarantee you will see the victory.

I encourage you this day to do as the old song states:

Standing, Standing,

Standing on the promises of God my Savior; Standing, Standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.
